The Big Family Festival
The BIG Family Festival is new for 2022 and invites families to end their summer with a bang. The festival will host 8 zones of activity and offers families an array of activities to enjoy.
Join us for a weekend of fun on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August, 10am – 7pm (free entry).
As well as free entry, all activities at the event will be free including the kids zone, cycling and sporting activities and the BIG festival stage entertainment.
The event is supported by Big Feed Street Food Social, who are a travelling street food collective with bi-monthly, family and doggy friendly events in Glasgow, with regular appearances at festivals across the country.
The BIG Family Festival will bring together the best food, music and activities from across the country to create a family friendly day out. Entry is free and everyone is welcome – you can even bring your furry friends – we think they might like our doggy friendly area!
The BIG Family Festival guarantees a great family day out. It will include 8 activity zones:
Street Food Village
As part of the two-day festival, we have a packed street food village for you to explore and enjoy. There’s something for everyone, with vendors catering for a range of tastes and preferences including vegetarian and vegan food.
Kidz Zone
The kidz zone will be packed full of fun!
Mini Manoeuvres will host a variety of children’s activities throughout the day including arts & craft activities, soft play, performers, face painting, balloons and more!
Food & Craft Market
We’re excited to include a range of small businesses offering handcrafted products at the food and craft market!
Bar and Cocktail Trucks
Once you’ve chosen some food, join us for some entertainment on the BIG Festival stage. We have an event bar pouring soft drinks, as well as Madri, Blue Moon, Pravda and Aspall.
If cocktails are more your thing, make sure you stop by one of the pop up cocktail carts from Malfy Gin and Lillet, offering their classic cocktails as well as a range of summer cocktails and mocktails.
The Big Festival Stage
We have a packed schedule on the BIG Festival stage from 10am – 7pm each day.
Enjoy children’s performances with Mini Manoeuvres (also hosting activities in the kidz zone) and take part in some fitness tasters with the ActiveNL team.
We also have a range of live music throughout the afternoon and will finish the day with some class DJ sets!
Cycling & Sporting Activities
Get active at the cycling and sporting activities zone within Car Park 1 and on the concourse behind the watersports centre.
Learn to ride cycling activities that will be delivered over the weekend by Social Track and there will be free have a go BMX sessions – empowering you to improve your life through cycling.

Picnic Area
Make sure you take time to relax and soak up the atmosphere. We have a dedicated picnic area and tent for you to enjoy some time out from the crowds. We’re expecting the event to be very busy, so we’ve made sure we have lots of free space for you to enjoy your food, drinks and the entertainment on offer.
