Job Description

As Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for helping to maintain the integrity of the general ledger. The staff accountant will have direct responsibility for accounts receivable, determining a customer’s credit worthiness, and properly reserving for bad debt. The staff accountant will also be setup new customers, setup new vendors and manage the company credit card program.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this position is based in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Major Accountability:

• Customer Creditworthiness
• Bad Debt Analysis
• Customer Collection Calls
• ERP Update Experience
• Month End Close Journal Entries

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Ensure customer orders are released and evaluated for shipment
• Setup new customers
• Setup new suppliers
• Manage employee credit cards
• Journal entries around rebates, royalties and cost center spend

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required
• Manufacturing background preferred
• Must have working knowledge of an ERP system.
• Strong excel skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work cross functionally in a fast-paced and multi-task environment.
• Must be highly organized and comfortable working with tight deadlines.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• This position will interact with internal contacts in Operations, Materials, Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales.

Working Conditions:

• Typically office environment but will require interaction on the production floor regularly.
• Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
