Company Description

Raise the Roof Entertainment (a Cleveland-based corporate event production company) is growing—and we’re looking for a Lead Audio Visual Technician to join our team.

If you're passionate about live events, love working with pro AV gear, and want to take the lead on show execution, gear prep, and warehouse coordination, this role is for you.

Role Description

Pre-Event

  • Interpret gear lists and show specs for upcoming events
  • Prep and test AV gear (audio consoles, LED walls, video switchers, lights)
  • Work alongside warehouse team on inventory and logistics

On-Site

  • Lead technical setup and teardown at venues
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and operate audio, video, and lighting systems
  • Oversee junior techs, stagehands, or freelancers on show site

Post-Event

  • Ensure all gear is returned, tested, and reset
  • Report maintenance needs and help keep gear ready for the next show

Qualifications

  • 3+ years hands-on experience in live AV production
  • Strong skills in at least 2 of 3 areas : audio, video, or lighting
  • Experience with equipment like:
  • Audio : X32, RCF
  • Video : NovaStar, Resolume, Blackmagic
  • Lighting : Chamsys, DMX, GrandMA
  • Ability to lead others on job sites and communicate clearly
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50+ lbs

⭐ Bonus Points For:
  • LED video wall experience
  • Show calling or client-facing experience
  • Familiarity with Current RMS or other rental management platforms
  • Vectorworks or basic CAD experience
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating Audio Visual (AV) Systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Knowledge of Video Conferencing systems
  • Skills in setting up and controlling Lighting systems
  • Experience with Projectors and related equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior experience in event production or entertainment industry is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent, relevant certifications are an advantage
