Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Global Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for leading Caire Inc.’s inbound, outbound, and inter-company freight operations, managing a $6M annual transportation spend, and ensuring compliance with global trade regulations.

This role will oversee the selection and management of global 3PL providers, optimize transport lanes and routes, negotiate contracts, and monitor provider performance to drive efficiency, cost savings, and service excellence.

The Global Logistics Supervisor works closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth and compliant logistics operations worldwide.

  • Direct and manage all inbound, outbound, and inter-company shipments in accordance with global regulations and company policies.
  • Select, contract, and manage global 3PL providers, optimizing transportation lanes and routes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with logistics partners.
  • Establish KPIs, monitor 3PL provider performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, and Customer Service to align logistics strategy with business objectives.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation for international trade compliance, including export/import declarations, invoices, packing lists, and regulatory filings.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management to support supply chain objectives.

Supervisory Responsibility

Oversees Logistics Specialists and 3PL partner teams.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting and occasional crawling.

International travel may be required

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7–10+ years of logistics or supply chain experience in a global manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing global freight operations, including inbound, outbound, and inter-company shipments.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade compliance, customs regulations, and 3PL management.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and manage contracts with logistics providers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with TMS and ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards) preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with supply chain optimization and warehouse management.
  • Familiarity with global Incoterms, EAR, CCL, ISF, HTSUS, and Schedule B product classification.
