D3 Search is actively seeking a Financial Controller candidate for a well-established and highly respected CA-based law practice headquartered in downtown Los Angeles, CA (90071).

• Note: 5+ yrs. relevant law firm financial/accounting experience is REQUIRED

Position Summary:

CA-based mid-size law firm headquartered in downtown LA has a current opening for a Financial Controller with a minimum 5+ years law firm experience (REQUIRED). Reports directly to the firm's Director of Finance.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial aspects of the firm, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and legal regulations, including trust accounting.
• Manage and improve accounting processes including billing, collections, and expense reimbursements via SOP’s.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, assess performance, and recommend improvements.
• Develop and implement budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Co-Manage and supervise the accounting department staff with Director of Finance.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in Controller/Assistant Controller role in law firm preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, financial analysis, cash flow management skills, and experience with financial reporting tools.
• Experience with legal accounting software, Elite 3E preferred, advanced Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with CPA designation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of law firm Partnerships, tax laws, and financial compliance

Salary/Compensation/Benefits:
