Fully On Site Role in Northwest San Antonio
The Epic Analyst will play a key part in supporting and enhancing clinical workflows in surgical and procedural care settings, with a focus on Epic OpTime and anesthesia functionality. They will collaborate closely with clinical teams, troubleshoot live issues, implement new features, and lead ongoing optimization and project efforts—all while ensuring alignment with biannual Epic upgrade cycles and leveraging data analysis tools like Excel to support system tracking and decision-making
Responsibilities
· Design, build, and maintain Epic OpTime functionality to support OR and GI workflows.
· Collaborate with the anesthesia application team to ensure cohesive and effective procedural care systems.
· Support recently implemented features which automate task assignment to inpatient nursing staff for surgical readiness, including NPO status enforcement and anesthesia prep.
· Troubleshoot live production issues and respond to optimization requests from clinical users.
· Build out new functionality based on customer needs and evolving clinical workflows.
· Stay current with Epic’s Nova Notes release updates (biannual upgrade cycles) and implement relevant new features.
· Utilize Excel for data analysis, system tracking, and reporting.
· Participate in or lead project-based work, including build cycles, testing, and go-lives.
Must Haves:
· Professional experience as an Epic builder or analyst, preferably within OpTime and/or anesthesia modules.
· Strong understanding of clinical workflows in procedural settings (OR, GI).
· Familiarity with Epic Nova Notes and how new functionality impacts system capabilities.
· Experience working in a live, production environment (not limited to training or implementation phases).
· Solid Excel skills for analysis and documentation.
· Proven ability to run with project work, requiring little to no supervision.
· Any Epic certification.
Nice-to-Haves:
· Epic OpTime certification.
· Experience with Epic system interfaces (e.g., HL7) is a plus.
