POSITION: CMM Programmer

What You will Do:

  • Program, Run production parts, assist with nonconformance investigations, validate CMM programing accuracy and capability. Must have the technical ability troubleshoot issues with parts, programming, and software.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to validate conformity to ensure the quality and integrity of the material and assemblies are produced to meet drawing specifications, tolerances, corporate procedures and customer requirements
  • Prepare to inspect by interpreting blueprints, data, and manuals to determine specifications, inspections and testing procedures
  • Review paperwork to ensure completion and accuracy of report
  • Validate CMM reports and programs by measuring dimensions using instruments such as gages, calipers, comparators, micrometers, etc.
  • Fill out paperwork (electronic and paper) such as turnback forms, inspection or test data.
  • Train and assist less experienced peers and operators.
  • Communicate with operations to problem solve and establish priorities.
  • Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.
  • Over 50 hours per week as scheduled to meet business needs.
  • All other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business.

Work Experience

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in CMM Programming using Wenzel CMM.
  • Advanced proficiency in reading CMM reports, shop math, geometry, and algebra.
  • Advanced proficiency with detailed drawings including GD&T, general features and blueprint reading
  • Strong computer skills to include MS Office Suite of programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work and interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
  • Possess advanced manufacturing knowledge includes the techniques, tools, and principles and processes involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Candidate must be able to utilize or swiftly learn to use Geomeasure and OpenDMIS software. Specific software knowledge and experience is strongly preferred.
  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be a US Citizen

Exempt Pay Range: $69K to $77K

Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.

This role is 100% onsite in West Des Moines Iowa, USA

You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.

  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
