Job Description

Join a respected engineering and manufacturing organization in North Houston as they expand their technical leadership team. This position will play a key role in supporting critical combustion component work and driving engineering execution for high-performance turbine fuel systems.

As a Combustion Engineer General Manager, you’ll lead a team of four (2 Technical Field Representatives, 1 Shop Manager, and 1 Project Manager), providing hands-on support and direction across engineering operations with a special focus on fuel nozzle systems (including components like F7EA Frame, F7B, and F7FA). This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering foundation and emerging leadership experience, or a seasoned technical professional ready to transition into a broader management scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical point of contact for engineering support related to combustion hardware
  • Guide and oversee daily activities of your team to ensure on-time delivery of projects and technical support
  • Troubleshoot product and performance issues in collaboration with operations and customers
  • Review component designs and collaborate on improvements to manufacturing processes
  • Lead or support budget planning, project estimates, and cost assessments
  • Participate in customer discussions, ensuring engineering decisions align with project goals and operational needs

Qualifications

  • Strong background in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Hands-on experience with combustion hardware and/or fuel nozzle systems
  • Ability to lead or mentor a small team across shop, project, and field functions
  • Solid problem-solving skills with attention to performance, safety, and compliance
  • Comfortable working onsite in Houston—local candidates preferred
  • Prior experience in gas turbine engineering
  • CFD or thermal analysis experience
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership responsibility
  • Familiarity with OEM specifications and industry compliance standards
