Job Title: Administrative Assistant - Estimating Department

Location: Mt. Airy, MD

Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire

Salary: Up to $60,000 annually

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the Estimating Department at a busy construction company. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being a key part of a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to estimators and project managers
  • Assist with bid preparation, document formatting, and proposal submissions
  • Maintain and organize project files, drawings, and specifications
  • Track bid due dates and coordinate submission schedules
  • Communicate with subcontractors and vendors to gather pricing and documentation
  • Enter and update data in estimating software and spreadsheets
  • Prepare reports and presentations as needed
  • Support general office tasks including filing, scanning, and scheduling meetings

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in administrative support, preferably in construction or estimating
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with construction terminology and documentation is a plus
  • Experience with estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar) is a bonus
